Kyrgyz Hiking in Ala Archa gorge
Being in Kyrgyzstan you can start a tour of hiking in Ala Archa gorge. It is also seen as the Ala Archa National Park that was actually created in 1976. Travelling 40 km on car for rent from the capital of Kyrgyzstan, you will find yourself in the gorge. The name from the Kyrgyz name means "bright and colorful juniper". This juniper, or archa, is burnt by the local people for the smoke to get away evil spirits. The highest peak of the gorge is 4,895 meters - is the Peak Semenov-Tienshanski.
