Tours in Tajikistan: Tour 2
Route: Dushanbe - Hissor - Norak - Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Iskanderkul Lake - Penjakent - Seven lakes - Dushanbe
Day 1: Dushanbe - Hissor - Dushanbe
It is pleasure to see you in Tajikistan. The driver will meet you and accompany to Dushanbe. You will have a city tour and visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament as well as National park and Ministry of Inner Affairs. Here you will see the biggest National Flag in the world of 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Then you will drive 35 km to visit Hisor fortress (VII-XVII centuries). This ancient site has encouraged areas and citadel. In past times it was the house of representative of the Emir of Bukhara which was placed on a high hill with walls of 1 m thick. If you go inside, you will find out a pool and a garden and there was a fortress with market square with a caravan serai and shops. Travelers will see monuments of "Madrasa I Kuhna" (new school of 16th-17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam" (16th century). We will back to Dushanbe. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
In the morning we will travel to Kalai Khum village. On the way travelers will see Norak water reservoir or Tajik Sea. It is defined to be the highest point of the day is Shuraba pass (2 267 m). We will drive via Afghanistan border starts. You will be astonished by its great mountains. It is important to note that it is devoted to the Territory of Pamir Mountains. In past times it was impressed by explorers as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. We will drive along natural border as Pyanj River. The Pamirs are the ocean of white and blue mountains. Night is in a homestay.
Day 3: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
We will travel to Dushanbe via wonderful mountain road and high Khoburubot Pass (3 252) famous as Western Pamir Tract. Travelers will see beautiful view of river valley and gorges in the terrain. Also, you can find small villages and meet local people. Tajik people will meet you with open heart and hospitality. In addition, you will see wild nature and animals. Afterwards night is in a hotel.
Day 4: Dushanbe - Iskanderkul Lake
We will have a tour driving to high Mountain lake - Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). This wonderful lake is located in the famous Fann Mountains. It is one of the gorgeous places of Central Asia. The road to the lakes goes over Anzob pass (3 372 m) where you can admire panorama views. Upon arrival, you can enjoy hiking and rest on beaches. You can also see waterfall if you spend 40 minutes. Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources and has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Rest is in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Iskanderkul Lake - Penjakent
We will drive to Penjakent via pass Shahriston (3 378 m). Penjakent so called "five villages" is located in Khujand area of Tajikistan in Zeravshan river valley. This city underway the history in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent in this period was one of the most significant cultural and crafts centers of Sogd and called "Central Asian Pompeii". It had well-ordered city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, amusing dwelling houses ornamented with paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. But the ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. You will have a chance to see the remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers' church. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 6: Penjakent - Seven lakes
In the morning we will admire beauty of the Fannsky Gory (Fann Mountains) over Anzob pass (3 372 m). Enjoy panorama views and take bright photos. In addition, you can also try hiking. The Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes) take area of about 60 km south of Panjakent. On the way you will adore stunning road and see the unique nature. The colorful forms of these will impress travelers. Rest is in a hotel.
Day 7: Seven lakes - Dushanbe
Fann Mountains are famous among travelers and standing by attract people from around the world. This is one of the best places for hiking in the Fannsky Gory (Fan Mountains) and relish your great tour. Thousands lovers of trekking visit Fann Mountains per year and have pleasure. You can also communicate with locals and learn more about their lifestyle. Night is in a homestay.
