Route: Dushanbe - Hissor - Norak - Kalai Khum - Khorog - Ishkashim - Yashil Kul Lake - Bulunkul Lake - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
Day 1: Dushanbe - Hissor - Dushanbe
Happy to see you in Tajikistan. The driver will meet you in the airport and accompany to Dushanbe. The tour will start by driving 35 km in order to visit Hisor fortress (VII-XVII centuries). It was the house of the delegate of the Emir of Bukhara and placed on a high hill and was well defended with 1 m thick walls and loopholes with a pool and a garden as well as a busy market square with a caravan serai and shops. In addition, there were two imposing towers. Being in Hisar we will visit the recently restored monuments of "Madrasa I Kuhna" (16th-17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam" (16th century). We will return to Dushanbe and visit Botanical garden and Victory Park. Night is in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
We will travel to Kalai Khum village. On the way we will visit Norak water reservoir or Tajik Sea. We will drive over Shuraba pass (2 267 m) along Afghanistan border starts. This area is famous for its unique mountains belonging to the Territory of Pamir Mountains. The Pamirs have encouraged the world's greatest explorers as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. We will drive along natural border - Pyanj River and enjoy the views of white and blue mountains. Overnight is in a homestay.
Day 3: Kalai Khum - Khorog
In the morning we will travel to Khorog. It is one of the tiniest cities on the map of the world and enclosed by rocky mountains. The town was constructed on the confluence of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara river and Ghund river flow into Pyanj river. Being in Khorog you will meet Pamir people. In general, the Pamir people apart from the Tajik people. Midst the Pamiris, there is a great calculation of people with blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog - Ishkashim
The tour will start by travelling to a small village of Ishkashim. It is the capital of Ishkoshim District in Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Province in south-east of the country. It is located on the Panj River. The Panj River is a branch of the Amu Darya which is 1 125 km long and procedures a significant part of the Afghanistan and Tajikistan border. The village of Ishkoshim is situated reverse a town of the same name in Afghanistan, while the name of the Afghan town is transliterated Ishkashim following Persian notes. Rest is in a home stay.
Day 5: Ishkashim - Yashil Kul Lake - Bulunkul Lake
In the morning we will visit stunning lakes of the Pamirs as Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes), located on the altitude of 3 700 meters above sea level in the Murghab district. Travelers will be impressed by the color of water in Bulunkul. It has violet and dark-blue colors with species of fish in the lake. You can see yaks. They are domestic animals which provide milk and meat products. On the way to the lake you will drive over Koitezak pass (4 271 m). Night is in a homestay.
Day 6: Bulunkul - Khorog
Today we will drive to Khorog along Pamir Highway, recognized as M41 Pamir Tract. It is deliberated the second highest mountain road after highway of Tibet. The road is situated over mountains and passes on the elevations of more than 4 000 meters above sea level. On the way you will drive over Koitezak pass (4 271 m). On tour travelers will be impressed by a unique diversity of wildlife and see wild mammals are Turkestan rat, tiger-cat, grizzly bear, badger, stoat, fox, grey and red wolves. You can also find a high population of Marco Polo sheep and snow leopard. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 7: Khorog - Kalai Khum
We will drive from Khorog to Kalai Khum. This area contains of high rocky mountains over 6 000 meters and only 1 road was possible to be built. Fleeting via the Pamirs, travelers have the rare opportunity to not only genius the beauty of environment, but also learn more about the ethnography, history and everyday life of mountain dwellers. We will stop in small villages to communicate with local people. Their houses are located on both sides of the river in narrow mountain valleys. On the other side of the river you will see Afgan stony villages and gardens. Overnight is in a homestay.
Day 8: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
The last day of our tour will start by traveling to Dushanbe via mountain road. We will drive over high Khoburubot Pass (3 252) known as Western Pamir Tract and enjoy attractive river valley and astonishing gorges in the terrain. On the route you will see small villages and meet local people. Tajiks are hardworking and hospitable people. They respect its traditions and folklore and enchanted by the beauty of wild nature. Transfer to a hotel.
Day 9: Flight
In the morning is transfer to airport.
